Allocate new number to contract

Good Day

Is it possible to allocate a new cell# to my current contract and have my current # converted to prepaid? I would like to have my primary number ported to MTN because I cannot take this anymore - my phone's data connection has been on and off this whole holiday and data throughput is useless.

If you ask if MTN can do this, they assisted me 9 years back with number change, on on of my contracts.

Looks like I'm not the only one.

So this is what you need to do. IF you have a LTE enabled device I suggest getting a Prepaid LTE simcard with MTN. You can get it at checkers.

So you need 2 prepaid staterpacks both rica'd. 1 prepaid Cellc and 1 prepaid MTN.
Keep the MTN closed but rica'd and switch the prepaid Cellc staterpack on load enough airtime for 1 sms. Write down the number of the prepaid Cellc staterpack.

Pm the Cellc rep here and ask him if he can do a number change for you. Contract number > Prepaid Cellc number. You will then get a new number on your contract and your Cellc prepaid staterpack will have your contract number.

Once that is done sms PORTME simno to 0837678287 from your Cellc prepaid number which is you contract number that got moved. the sim number is the sim number on the back of your MTN staterpack. Usually a short number.

Wait for the port to complete. If you SMS before 6pm then the port will happen same day. IF you sms to port after 6pm the port will happen next day.
