I am trying to setup Allshare with my PC and my 46" Samsung Smart Tv.

The PC is connected via a cable to my router, and the TV via WiFi.

I can't see any content on the PC with the TV, and the PC doesn't pick up the TV. Anyone got any ideas?

I don't know Allshare that well, but start by giving the PC and TV static IP's. The PC directory should be shared. The TV should access the PC IP

You need add the files or folders to the shared folder from Samsung Allshare app on your PC. Once done, your pc will show up on your source list and only shared files and folders will be displayed. Also make sure that your tv appears on your device list in Samsung Allshare.

They are added, there's no pc on the source list or tv on the pc source list.

What windows are you using XP i am guessing ??
DLNA works nice with windows 7 not so nice with XP

The allshare Windows app is terrible.

Pooky don't you have a mac? I use an iOS app called 'playback' and it works great. From 'source' you can select your mac and can browse through all your shared multimedia.

Pooky, turn off AP Isolation in the wireless settings on your wifi router.

UPNP is enabled.

It's a Telkom Mega 105WR router. My PC is connected via LAN cable, and the TV is connected via WiFi. I can use internet services on the TV, but cannot see my computer using Allshare or Serviio, and my computer cannot see the TV. I have tried Fixed IP's but with no success. AP isolation is off.

I can ping the TV.

I can ping the TV.
Then I can only think of two possible causes;

1. The problem lies with the router. For some reason its not properly bridging the SSDP multicast (used by DLNA for discovery) packets between its switch & wireless interfaces. Only way to really test is to take the PC & router close to TV (or visa versa) and plug TV into the router via Ethernet cable. If the TV discovers the DLNA server then you'll know thats the issue, so try upgrading firmware or replace router. If not continue to 2.

2. Issue is in on the PC, either clash or some other sw/driver problem. Make sure all of Window's built-in Media Sharing is disabled so as not to clash with DLNA server sw. Try disabling the Win (or other) firewall temporarily. Upgrade the Ethernet NIC driver.

Serviio on my macbook works fine, so it doesn't appear to be my router...
