Hi everyone,

So almonds play big role in my diet. The thing is they are so expensive! Does anyone know where I can buy them in bulk for cheap?

Thanks :)

Almonds are nice, but IMHO walnuts are at least as nice and healthy. Got two trees here at the back, can help you with a few Kgs at 120 rands per Kg. Cleaned and packed in large tins. Just PM me.

If only you lived in CPT :(.

CPT is too far, will be in Pretoria on 28 and 29/4. And pass Joburg.
Cool. Well if anyone in CPT has a walnut tree and wants to make some money - I'm looking to buy :).

Sorry I can't give better directions, but I buy almonds (roasted or not) in 1kg packs from the greengrocer next to Groenkloof Butchery in Lynwood.

Don't forget to activate your almonds

Ok, you need to explain to us non-almond-activating plebs ..

Also, Elfreako if you don't mind elaborating how you utilise almonds in your diet?

I think he eats them
You soak the nuts overnight to remove something (edit: phytic acid?) which prevents the nut from being digested properly. Ideally you'd soak, then dry in a dehydrator again and store.

I live in cpt, what were you going to suggest?
I wasn't going to suggest anything. I was replying to the walnuts. Anyway. There's not really such a thing as cheap almonds these days. Komati foods quality is nice but is no cheaper than anywhere else.

i have once off almonds in bulk. blanched almonds at r150.00 per kilo ( have 24 kilos ) am expecting a new shipment of normal almond probably at the same price .
