Almost got scraped by a reckless BMW driver

So this evening after work my cousin and I were coming from Century City on the N1 making our way over to the M5 (southbound towards Muizenberg) driving along the offramp that connects the N1 to the M5 (I think the speed limit here is 60km/h). We were doing about 70km/h in the left lane when this idiot BMW 3 series driver in the right lane doing about 80km/h (wanting to cut in front of me) comes to within 30cm of front right side of my car, driving that close to me for a second or two until he was able to have his way.

So I hooted him and flashed him, followed him for a while as he weaved between cars (not indicating) and what not. When we overtook him as he took the N2 offramp towards the airport he seemed totally not fazed smoking his tobacco pipe. I'd say he was in his fifties.

If I was so inclined what sort of action (legal or otherwise) could I take against this moron to discourage him from driving like this in future? The photo we took of him has his licence plate number.

Welcome to my world. I also take that route home everyday after work. I encounter many BMW's that drive like total ****tards.

Seriously.... they need to grow a ****ing brain and **** off. I'm tired of their ****. :/

OP would have a heart attack every 40 seconds in GP traffic. :p

You know that combination isn't possible, right? One of those estimates is wildly wrong.

People on the M5 can't drive, plain and simple, it's the worst strip of road. They all think they own the road going 80 in the right lane.

Every single day I overtake about 20 cars on the left.

Yip, it's an estimate after all (time & speed distortion under duress)... the one or two seconds leading up to the incident my foot was off the accelerator as I already saw this d-bag bmw a-hole coming up behind me on the left and then changing to the right lane and I had already decided I wasn't gonna race him. He then wanted to cut in front of me cause the car in the right lane was not going fast enough for his liking at perhaps 75-80km/h.
