Does nobody make use of one of these?

I see them listed everywhere all the time but have never seen anyone actual own one.

Seems like a pretty solid package and good value so why are they being avoided in favour of other systems?

I've actually been looking at putting one of the baby units in at our offices to replace our stupid lead acid UPS' as well.

My only concern at this point would be the ability to integrate into Home Assistant, as I can't find much details on their monitoring options outside of their app.

There are a forum in a language I don't understand that have figured out how to connect to these. But if you want to connect to home assistant, you better off getting the original Goodwe 5048es.

Also, some of these actually have axpert inverter inside. Not what you really want.

I mean I foresee only needing a basic reading of solar/battery/grid and then how much of each being more than enough for my purposes.

Which I can get out of SolarEdge natively. Just spotted these more and more and more of late and had to wonder.

The Axpert inverter isn’t great I’m sure, would need to see which those applies to.

Their (cloud) monitoring platform is actually one of the nicest I’ve seen.

The Goodwe 5048es is epic when it come to home Assistant. Can change the work mode and the dod from home assistant. Which means, you can automate settings.

Yes, I've been running one for 2 years and I'm reasonably happy. There is a Home Assistant integration that works fairly well but it sounds like Goodwe is better in this respect.

Oh this isn’t anything to do with Home Assistant.

I just want to run my network racks off them.

Eaton and APC both have lithium rackmount UPS's. Not cheap yes, but convenient.

And some of them (previous generations) are actually a GoodWe ES inside, but with different firmware that does not work with HA...

Basically an Axpert in a fancy shell. I see that Segen are pushing them at the moment, capitalising on the logistical shortages of decent kit.
Not a great rep on the Powerforum, many appear to be disappointed with its performance and support.
Personally, I would avoid.

Yeah but comparatively unless I’ve missed it those are all still just clean shutdown products except with Lithium.

I want to keep it up through a Load shed or three.

You normally have a parameter for how long it keeps the PCs on until it shuts them down. Otherwise dont connect the USB cable and it will run for as long as the battery allows.

Yeah but this is what I mean they all have batteries way too small for being rack mounted and all that hence looking at the more “external” solution that could do a few hours.
