Well playing a dps class you sort of have to bench yourself on DPS standards...
Would you prefer hunters comparing themselves to healers with how much healing they done on their pets ?

Hunters are not a hybrid calls... all three our builds are built around one thing... DPS... if not our personal DPS, to boost the dps of other DPS'ers.

So what would you like hunters to bench on ?
The first round of pally nerfs kicked in, and I am pretty sure there are more coming. Oh well...

Not at all...obviously DPS rates are important for DPS classes since a lack in this space will also cause wipes due to fights lasting way longer than what they should.

What I am trying to get at is that I would rather have a hunter with slightly lower dps, but knows how to use raid dps support abilities, know how to trap and chain trap propperly, knows how and when to use misdirection, feign death, controlling threat, etc.

Without the knowledge of fully utilising a class, you will always be referred to as a "face-roller." Why do you think hunters are so often referred to as huntards? Not because it's a bad class (infact the are brilliant,) but because of the vast number of hunters with no idea of how to play the class.

Exactly... and I agree completely with you.

And thats why I get so frustrated with retarded comments about huntards, and one button IwinDPS class remarks. They are prolly the easiest class to play but the hardest to master when it comes to finetuned DPS mechanics and micro management of your pet.

I constantly bench myself on DPS reports / meters up to the point of breaking down WWS stats on a per shot basis and shots per min fired. And even respec from time to time to survival if our local survival hunter is not available for boss fights like brutallus (pre-noob-nerf) for the good of the raid.

Sadly I get the impression you have been grouped most of the time with huntards, which is kinda unfair when it comes to your original comment you made. Also the problem with pally p0wnag3 is not their PVE damage abilities.... its their burst damage that is not balanced. And in PVP is where you see the importance of burst damage.

Hunters are called huntards/face rollers because the noobs just afk-autoshot I love joining a heroic on my hunter (being in the group where everyone thinks you'll screw up) and blowing them away in competence
