Alt - use on laptop

Hi there

I have found on most laptop keyboards that the Alt + 0234 or +0235 - to do umlauts and kappies - don't work. If one uses a cordless keyboard instead of the laptop's own keyboard, will it work then? Anyone tried this?

External keyboard works fine.
Else use the <ALT><FN> keys in combination with the on the laptop keyboard. (Use the numbers on the letter keys - top row won't do it)

This laptop keyboard works fine - and I challenge your claim - I've always been able to use Alt-nnnn on laptops. A cordless keyboard shouldn't have a problem either.

An alternative is getting an external num pad, makes life simple
