Buy Bitcoin on Luno, transfer to Jaxx. Then use Jaxx to Shapeshift (convert) your bitcoin to Civic (or any other token you want, that Jaxx supports). Just make sure you get backup access to your Jaxx wallet before depositing anything into it. (this is a 12 word pass phrase)

Ah cool, thanks! I assume for us South Africans, Luno is pretty much the only option for noobs like me starting out?

I believe so, yes. For buying Bitcoin with ZAR, Luno is the only place I know of. But I'm also quite a noob - others can correct me if I'm wrong

I find Jaxx extremely slow in moving coins, they've yet to allocate everyone's BCC

I have used the utility in settings if I remember correctly, it will send your BCC related to your Jaxx BTC balance before the fork to an address of your choice, I sent mine to an exchange.

How did you manage that, according to a tweet 2 hrs ago from Jaxx it's still not available


@nigelsallan Your BCH is already there. You will be able to TX it when we enable the wallet in Jaxx or w/ the Priv Keys from any supp wallet

Or you just deposit USD using your visa/mastercard at cex.io and buy BTC there.

Sorry, it must have been Exodus then, but I don't see the function there anymore either :confused:

Are you on the Jaxx dev. team ? To who were you responding there, can't find a relevant post for the last couple of days nor a forum member by that name :confused:

Has anyone tried Luno instant buy/sell? if you buy a coin they charge you a much higher rate than what shows on the graph?

i bought a percentage of a coin when it was R49 072.00 and they charged me R50 150.00.
