Alternative Cryptocurrencies (General Discussion & Trading)

Thanks so much - will add it to my small collection of coins and see how things pan out by end of this year or even next year. It's not easy finding out which coins may be profitable down the line. Any of them could be a gamechanger besides grandad bitcoin which already is.

LOL, so true.

All other NEO owners. What's with the discrepancy on the chain explorers?
This address in particular: ATu1WeEfMx5K44P4ghCPScbgAX4wvQm86R
So here it shows up (13) http://antcha.in/address/info/ATu1WeEfMx5K44P4ghCPScbgAX4wvQm86R
Here too: https://neoexplorer.co/addresses/ATu1WeEfMx5K44P4ghCPScbgAX4wvQm86R

But the official neo wallet has been sitting there for days and hasn't properly synced yet.... and when I click the address in it, I get a 404 on the chain explorer: https://antchain.xyz/address/ATu1WeEfMx5K44P4ghCPScbgAX4wvQm86R

I probably need to download the chain bootstrap file - doing that now. Still - 800Mb after 4 days on a 20Mbps connection - it should be done by now... that aside, why does the official neo app take me to a 404 page on the antchain.xyz explorer for my address? Is it borked? Other addresses produce results.

Glad I moved strongly into Ripple about two weeks ago. :)

Cheapest Ripple I bought was for $0.13, so really smiling for that batch. All-in-all my XRP portfolio is up nicely. Will be interesting to see where people start offloading. I suspect people will start pulling out at around $0.50 (if it even gets there), try to recover whatever they've invested. I don't think will last for long, eventually even out again at around $0.35.

NEO's GAS increased sharply in circulation supply this morning. I think it is something like 5 million GAS coins. It is probably due to a portion of the NEO team's supply activated on the blockchain (I think). There are fears that this will decrease the value of GAS, but I think this depends on how the coins came into circulation, i.e. NEO's holdings that were already on the blockchain but not yet activated somehow. If the new coins have not become available on an exchange I think the GAS price will not be affected (apart from people now selling of in fear) ? In fact, if the coins were released with the goal of being put to actual use for operations then it could even add liquidity/meaning to GAS and eventually cause the price of GAS to increase ? Thoughts ?

EDIT: Some are saying it is simply coin market cap that has updated their information, having lagged behind badly.

BNB trading volume picking up on Binance. Tomorrow they start charging fees for trading on Binance and BNB can be selected for fee payment at 50% discount. This could possibly be a trading opportunity for the next couple of days.

Who knows? I certainly don't have the foggiest notion. :p

I moved into Ripple as a medium-term play because that's what more and more fiat-currency banks are using for quick transfers. Even some SA banks. They've obviously taken a look at the underlying business and technology and find it suitable for now.

I believe this is due to a South Korean pump. It got BCH up on the weekend and they have also been hammering Ripple.

Monero spiked due to rumours that it may list on Korean exchanges such as Bithumb and Korbit, so that has doubled in price, and when it lists its going to be pumped high.

They will all correct... Ripple will possibly start falling off in then next day or 2. I could be wrong, but this is my view at the moment.

If you did not listen to my suggestion, good on you. BNB down almost 20%

EDIT: I see Binance will only start charging for trades as of tomorrow. Keep an eye on it.
