Alternative Launchers vs Battery drain

I am not sure if alternative launchers such as Go Launcher and Regina 3D Launcher require extra battery power. I install these two days ago and since then my battery has had some strange drain. Struggle to get through the day now. Have Go Launcher running now with a theme. Surely this can't be the case that it is taking extra power? Battery stats currently have my usage at Display 42%, Cell Standby 42% and Android OS 8%. Any ideas why the Cell standby so high? I have not installed any other apps nor have I changed any settings other than the launcher.
 
I will take a look through all this later. Best battery life I have had with my SGS is with my current ROM setup before this mysterious battery drain started.

Had similar issues with JVO and using SPB Shell 3D. Ended up using the standard TWLauncher that came with Darky Build.

I found mine to last longer on SPB Shell 3D vs HTC Sence esp since the last update.
 
Strangely working again. Let the battery drain fully last night. Unplugged it at 06:31 this morning fully charged and the time now on phone is 16:41 and the battery has 77% still left. Still running Go Launcher with a Box theme. I will see how it goes for the next few days.
