Alternative PPPOE driver software to connect to ADSL using a Marconi ADSL USB modem.

I got TELKOM ADSL about seven months ago after waiting for about 2 months after ordering the service.

Bought the Telkom Marconi ADSL USB modem.
Upon installation of the service I was informed that installation of the modem and software was a personal concern.

Telkom`s PPPOE software gave blue screens in Windows ME.
Tried to install the Telkom PPPOE driver in Windows XP – no success.

Then dug out a like program that I previous downloaded – cFos driver.

Installed it and was on the internet in less than a minute.

I was so impressed with this software that I bought it and never looked back.

If you have trouble using Telkom`s supplied software with your Marconi ADSL USB modem give this software a try.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with XP you don't need any telkom software. Go to add new connection, and follow the prompts for broadband/pppoe iirc

Elax - you may be right but I have not tried to use the MS built in driver.

However all I am trying to highligt is that there are other user friendly PPPOE driver software available and some work better then the MS/Telkom supplied software.

I use Opera 7.20 + cFos driver. Far faster then IE.
Can anybody comment/confirm this.
Has anyone else tried this type of setup?

Regards

I use RasPPPoE...

I just find it easier to use with Win2000 and scripting to allow dial up and disconnect.

Yep!

Do not use another ADSL config program with XP! Will give you endless crap!

Cheers
