Hi Forum,

I'm trying to buy something from Amazon but I f@#$@#$@ give up
'We do not ship to South Africa'.

And if they do ship, the delivery is like 4x the cost of the product I want.

Can you please recommend and alternative online shop that actually delivers to SA?
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I didn't know where to post.

Thanks Forum.
:)

Hey, please let us know what you are buying, then we could advise.
Regards.

You should also look at ebay.co.uk

I've had such terrible delivery from Ebay I gave up on them too.
Still 'waiting' for something since last year August,Nov,Dec.
The reason I wanted to go through Amazon is because people say it arrives in 10 days sometimes or 1-2 months max?

Honestly, would recommend you use a parcel forwarding service.
I have bought plenty of items from Amazon and other websites in USA/UK and sent it to my address provided by the parcel forwarder.
I would recommend postbox courier, have used them plenty of times and the longest I have waited for a parcel to be in my hands was 5 days.

Shipping from amazon is super fast. They give great service. They send your parcel with aramex. On their side everything is superfast. When it gets to our shores and you have to deal with aramex South Africa..... that is where the problems start. They take forever to get your parcel delivered.

Raru is more expensive than Amazon, comparing my Amazon basket with raru prices of the same items. Not sure if the raru price indicated included shipping. Whichever way, raru is not a cheaper option.

Someone please indicate if raru prices quoted before checking out includes shipping?

Shipping is free with raru if your purchase is R299 or more. To main centres. R35 everywhere else in SA

If what you want isn't there you can just pop them a mail to add the product you want.

Raru includes ALL import fees. So you don't pay any extra import tax or anything like that.

We're you expecting a local supplier that would be cheaper than Amazon?

I'm trying to find additional batteries for my Canon 650d.
Locally the prices are ridiculous. I can get 3 or 4 of them on Amazon for the same price.
Just the delivery and 'cannot deliver to SA' is killing me ....

This is basically what I need :
http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-B...id=1435925699&sr=8-10&keywords=canon+650d+mah

The genuine batteries are pretty much the same price here as they are on amazon. Those that you've linked are the knock off ones which I really don't recommend (heard many horror stories of them damaging bodies).

Either way, you can get the generic ones here:http://www.takealot.com/gpb-canon-lp-e8-battery/PLID32838165

or: http://www.camerastuff.co.za/shop/30071-phottix-titan-battery-lp-e8-for-canon-550d-600d-650d.html

Edit: Don't know if I would buy those though - I buy Hahnel locally and they work very well.
