Alternative Xbox Controller for Windows ?

Hi guys. I doubt I've ever posted in these parts so forgive me if I'm in the wrong section

My 6 year old has started enjoying some of the games from the Windows 10 store but struggles a bit using the keyboard/mouse to play them. I read online that the Xbox controller works well enough for a number of games he's playing, but I really don't want to shell out R800 + for a controller that's only going to see casual use. I wanted to know if there are any (cheaper) compatible controllers that will work with Xbox enabled games from the Windows store on Windows 10 ? It doesn't have to be wireless but if the price is right then cool. I'm looking to spend around R300 if possible. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Most cheap controllers that support xinput. Go to computer mania. They should have.

You can get custom ones like Logitech etc for pretty cheap. Otherwise look into the Wired xbox 360 controller for Windows. They are around 300 and work very well with almost all games (that support controllers).

But make the little guy(/irl) spend time with the mouse too, they'll get very good with it soon, as long as its not too big for their grubby paws.

Thanks, guys. I found a pair of wired Xbox 360 controllers on Gumtree for R400. Collecting on Friday. Thanks for the help
