Alternatives to dyndns.org

Hello
I'm completely green when it comes to these things :erm:

I use dyndns.org to connect to my alarm system at home. Is there any cheaper alternatives available?

Is Telkom's Dynamic DNS service similar? i.e. can I use it??:confused:
 
DuckDNS

Its free and does not have the "click here every X days" nonsense
 
Agree with the DuckDNS suggestion above, works well for me. Some router vendors (eg Asus) have their own DDNS as well but never bothered even looking at that.

Alternative Option.

I use Google DNS, $0.20 per domain + $0.40 for million queries. Total cost of $0.60 per month plus yearly domain cost of R79. There a nodejs script you can you to reset you ip address every day using api key or you can use the google cloud dns UI. Yearly workouts to R180 per year plus you get to fully control it. If you take a free domain the cost is R100 per year!

I use it for 50+ IP camera's/Devices.
camera1.example.co.za -> IP
camera2.example.co.za -> IP
device1.example.co.za -> IP
vps1.example.co.za -> IP

I use 11k queries on average(TTL set to 5 minutes).

Can support up to 1000 or 10000 Sub domains(I rather say 1000 or 10000 Records like MX, A Records, CName....) for same price.

Amazon Cloud DNS is also very good.

Google, Amazon and Azure has over 10 Locations redundancy and 99.9% SLA.

Thanks for the advice. I registered with DuckDNS.

But now I see my router's DDNS configuration only allows dyndns.org or TZO. Guess I'm stuck using either of those 2?
