Always Active Technologies (AAT) is a Wireless Application Service Provider (WASP) established in August 2001 and based in Durban, South Africa. The company (fledged from the Storm Group where it was initially a "R&D" department) develops mobile, application and web solutions for corporates and individuals and works with the 3 main South African cellular networks, namely Vodacom, MTN Group and Cell C. The industry is regulated by W.A.S.P.A (Wireless Application Service Providers Association) of which AAT was a founding member.

AAT's core technological focus includes Short message services (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS), Enhanced Messaging Services (EMS), Short Codes, Mobile Device Applications, Mobile IM applications, mapping and weather solutions. The company CEO is Loet de Swart, CTO is Greg Mahlknecht and the Chairman is Rob Fisher.

In 2001, AAT piloted the SMileS initiative in KwaZulu-Natal which aimed to provide users with information on crime in their area via SMS.[2] The company supplied technology to Scotland Yard in 2002 to facilitate communications between police, reservists and other staff during the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II using SMS.
