My wife has a Galaxy Note 2 LTE, on vodacom contract. A few times a day the phone looses network and cannot send or receive calls, sms etc.

She has to retart the phone to reconnect to the network.

Is the issue with the phone or with the LTE network?

My housemate has the same problem with her S3 LTE. I have told her to keep it on 3G only or 2G only to see if it resolves the problem...but when I get hold of the phone true as god it is back on LTE again. I think Iphones suffer from this problem also. My office managere have had hers exchanged 3 times already I think...even though I keep on telling her it will most likely keep on doing the same thing as I have heard others complaining about the same thing. As for if it is a network problem I dont know.

I started having this problem on the same day I got my iPhone5 under a Vodacom contract. And it was on 3G only. At an iStore they advised me to have Vodacom activate LTE. I was alright for a couple of weeks. Then the problem returned and I was losing network every single day, and also had to switch the phone off to regain connectivity. I updated my iOS to 6.1.3 on Friday and have been OK for the last 3 days. So I'm not sure whether it's the operator, the LTE network, or the phone. Incidentally, my son who also has an iPhone5 on prepaid never has this problem, though he also uses LTE.

Try apply the latest firmware update..

If it is currently updated, do a re install.
Should fix any bugs you experiencing.

I've had that problem with my old HTC, a Samsung S3, and now my Galaxy Note 2. I used to think that it was the phone, but now I am sure that it is Vodacom. I haven't bothered to argue with them about it, because I suspect that it will be completely pointless and highly frustrating.

Instead of turning off the phone, just turn flight mode on and off. It works for me.

Samsung Galaxy SIII 3G on MTN and also having this issue. Think it has something todo with my WiFi that is always on.

It shows full signal but I can't SMS nor can anyone contact me via SMS, Phone or Whatsapp.
