I have an N73 with a busted joystick. It's permanently on the in position.

I took it to two different cell repair shops. Both say I need to replace my lcd as well. Are they just trying to rip me off or is it legit? I really didn't think that the joystick and lcd were connected at all.

I had a similar problem a few years back. Broke my Z500 screen and everything was connected to it. So it might be. And if it is so - it will cost almost the price of a new one

Ok. It just happens I can help you here :) First NO, you don't have to change the screen. However, the joystick is connected to your memory card slot with a flat cable! And all that has to be changed. I have done it 2x in 14months on my n73. I ordered the joystick assembly from a chap in Taiwan (ebay) for about 200rand. They even send you the special screw driver. The screen, keyboard etc, will have to come out. Go to my blog and search for 'n73', if you want to see what a 'dismembered' n73 looks like. http://my-cell-blog.blogspot.com
