Any 1 know if the have a VPN APN or even if one is required on cellc to get onto my vpn?

ok i'll rephrase.... On vodacom ,inorder to access my companys' VPN we had to setup or rather activate a vpn apn (internetvpn); where the NATed IP on your system won't work with your application, typically when using a VPN client on your laptop, you need to switch to a different APN.Hence :"Do Cell C have an APN for VPN access? I trust I have your approval gents?!

Im not sure, check the website or something, but it will definately be a great idea if cellc will encapsulate data for a secure vpn. I could listen to songs directly from my pc. Let us know if this vpn option is an option

Oh, ok. I've only worked with Vodacom with a VPN via 3G... If I remember, we did a problem with the shared IP issue and machines from the same position trying to access the VPN (I think, it could have been something else though).

Shared ip issues can be solved by NATing

On the client side? I mean with 3G users share a towers IP and obviosly it's NATed (<--- is that a word). I seem to remeber loosing connection to the VPN because the guy sitting next to me was also trying to access it from his laptop over 3G. Again it might have been an unrelated problem, but the shared IP is the only thing we could figure.

Ok Vodacom has internetvpn, MTN says it doesnt need to as it is supposed to work, and Cell C doesnt have it yet, so yip Liposuck2004, you asking for a early xmas..

CellC VPN issue

G'day. Sorry, only jumped in now, thought I had to contribute my two cents to this cellc vpn issue.
I have been trying for the last 3 weeks to get an answer from someone at cellc in this regard. THe cellc helpdesk is worse than useless, since they don't have the faintest idea. They can only refer you to the techies, who are only slightly more useful.
After a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth, I phoned the Service Director. Of course he wasn't available, but they got their head techie Chris to contact me.
He claims that it works, you only need to enable IPSec over TCP instead of over UDP.
MY network techs claim that that is rubbish, cellc must provide a public address instead of a private address, or else the routing worn't work.
My next step is to get my network gey to phone their network guy. But in the meantime I've given up on the CellC EDGE solution, it completely sucks.
Bought an HSDPA card, cells can blow chunks.
My two cents.
