Yup true.

Hazard a guess it was discontinued due to relatively poor take-up

Robert, can you at least try to construct a sentence that makes sense in the English language.

Is the OP sure the plug fell into the engine? Was it not that someone took the plug out and something else fell into the hole, like a small nut or piece of metal?

This happened years ago on my 1.8 Polo Playa. Motor was a rightoff. Luckily the motor was replaced under warranty because it had only been serviced by VW.

Sorry MYBB, I was in a hurry and normally are. This person told me about the spark plug. I had to go to VW today and ask them what happened. They said that the owner got there and insist that VW tell him there and then what is wrong. They remove the front spark plug and it's inside was gone. They told him the spark plug broke. After they opened the engine they found that a intake valve got into the piston. I will post a pic. VW does not repair, just replace, so they want about R160 000 for the job.

The porcelain part. It then got smashed by the piston, and the dust got between the piston and the bore and caused major scratches.

That's pretty much impossible...since the spark end on the other side.

Sounds like a *** story that someone spun you.
