Amazon launches new Kindle Paperwhite

Amazon introduced its new Kindle Paperwhite today, which features a thinner, lighter design, sleek flush-front display, and waterproofing.

The new Paperwhite also comes with support for Audible, allowing you to listen to professionally narrated audiobooks.
 
Christmas present for wife is now sorted. She loves her kindle paperwhite and this would be a great upgrade. With house full of bookworms we can always do with spare kindles.
 
While paper white is nice, I do like to do other things on tablets as well, kindle fire tablets are pretty awesome especially with it's blue light function makes reading at night easier and better while it doesn't have an antiglare screen and generally doesn't fair well in direct light and battery not lasting as long.I still find it more functional then the paperwite, while it has a rather puny CPU and barely able to deal with PDFs let alone image heavy books.

The fire still downloads books directly to your tablet, the battery life of 7 odd hours is still plenty just a little pointless in my case.
 
Hmmm I'm very tempted by this since my original Kindle went 6 feet under a while ago....

I think the reason my paperwhite finally gave up the ghost last week (after being rather niggly for a while) is because I did read in the bath. Think the steam finally killed it.

Would love to get one now, but not being shipped here somebody said?
 
I don't know, every time I read the title I read Amazon Kindle Paperweight.
 
I see the new Paperwhite is waterproof, I don't read near water but it's a nice to have
 
My 3rd Gen Kindle is still going strong :-) I despise the lack of physical page turn buttons on successive generations.
