This is a question for all the Hornswaggles and buccaneers.

We're trying to get freevee working on an Android TV. It works, but since the person we're helping has an active Prime subscription, and it interferes with the working of freevee. As this person isn't techsavy we want to steer away from using a app cloner.

Any Ideas?

How does it "interfere" with Prime Video?

Each has it's own app.

Free we uses an Amazon account to login. It detects that there is an active Amazon account, and try to use it. So it detects that the account is from South Africa and refuse to use the app. Personally we use a clone-app app to bypass that, so end up with 2 Amazon accounts.

FreeVee is a US only service, as I understand it, so to use it, you need a VPN or a Smart DNS service to use it. Not aware of "clone-app", or how that works.

FreeVee may be available in the UK as well, not certain tho.

For use in the UK, you need a UK Amazon account, UK created Gmail account, UK address and post code. For this purpose I have dedicated my Fire TV 4K MAX to UK content.

For normal Android TV device, in the US, similar procedure, tho every thing is US based and not UK.

So not sure how you are operating - I use a separate device for each region.

I do believe it may be possible to operate dual Accounts on the same Device, but have not tried it. This would require logging out of the one address, and logging in with the alternative account.

But I suspect that you want to skip the dual account setup, which I do by dedicating a device to each region.

Don't have a Prime Subscription, but it may work to setup, an American Amazon account, for the benefit of FreeVee, and also use that for Prime Subscription here.

May or may not work.

The person we're helping has one android TV, so we're trying to squeeze as much out of it as possible. We got them used to use a VPN and how to switch between the US and UK.

Sites like pluto and freevee allow you to use the same account in both the UK and USA.

Hmmm ...

That makes it difficult, if you are stuck, with what the TV allows. I plug a different Streaming device, into it's own HDMI port, switch source HDMI, to desired device. Then watch.

Using a region dedicated e-mail address, will allow the installation of FreeVee, Pluto etc. from the local playstore.

Edit:

It would appear, that gmail addresses are region marked/tagged.
