I am considering subscribing to Amazon Prime Video and I wondered if those who have used the service can give me a little information that I couldn’t find online. Can you access all advertised content or is Amazon South Africa content limited in the same way as other streaming services like Netflix? I want to access specific content which is why I’m asking. TIA

Not worth it in SA, much more content available on prime in the USA

I can't really say for sure, but it seems that all their original content (Grand Tour, Rings of Power, The Expanse, etc) is available.

Just use the free trial to check if what you want to watch is there.

The only thing i watched there was The grand tour. Once i was done with it I couldn't find anything else worth watching.

In my experience, the catalogue is not the same as in the US but +1 on just checking out the free trial. Alternatively, a site like JustWatch should also be able to give you a good idea of what you can expect to see in South Africa.

Good to know, want to try this myself later tonight. Have an active Smartdnsproxy sub, so I'll give it a bash.

I would agree to the point that the SA catalogue isn't huge, but the main staples are there and for the price, ag, I'm subbed. My wife and I only started watching a few movies over the weekend on AP and then we got hooked on Outer Range (love it!)

More or less the same - worth the price for the handful of series we work through at an incredibly slow pace

south african version is awful, not worth it, subscribe to the us version instead with a vpn or smartdns at amazon.com, tons of content with add ons too like paramount+, discovery+, history vault, starz etc
