Hey guys, just managed to to sideload the Amazon Prime app onto my Mibox 3. Took a look around and I must say, the amount of content in there is mindblowing. Seems like tons more than Netflix and all older shows from The Sopranos to Shameless and the latest hits aswell. The problem is that I am finding it hella confusing. You get to an show, and they want you to pay $2.99 for an episode. I had thought that it was similar to Netflix in that you pay your monthly subscription and can watch anything that the platform offers.

Would anyone consider putting together a simple or more in depth tutorial or guide with tips and tricks how to get Prime video setup and get the most out of it. Is there anyone who would take a moment? I have smartDNS aswell and am trying to get it sorted but it is proving a bit of a challenge compared to Netflix.

I know there are some grand masters on here that are masters of the streaming setup...would anyone care to give us a guide and help set us free even further from the DSTV shackles? There are bits and pieces strewn across the form but nothing really comprehensive and concise.

Any Amazon Prime users on here?
 
I've got PrimeVideo and I never see the "rent" option, just that it is "included with Prime"
 
I see the rent option.. The episodes you can rent are from channels like HBO, CW etc and not part of PrimeVideos content included in the price you pay for it.. All episodes that are PrimeOriginals you can watch for free and select few other things..

Do you perhaps have a special APK or how are you connected to the app? Via a VPN or smart dns?
 
So I thought I’d give this ago.. it’s been available in SA for a bit so maybe it’s worthwhile..

Uhm nope, sucks compared to Netflix, even showmax .. seems like it just has old stuff and boatloads of Bollywood movies that it pushes. Bleh.. cancelling.

Anyone know anything else that’s good? Currently I have Netflix, Showmax.

What device you watching prime on ? I know if you using a fire stick that is not officially available in SA it will show a watered down version of prime . Like lots of Bollywood movies and it’s own prime originals. Check the app called JustWatch to show you a full catalogue of all available shows available on prime in South Africa

Are you sure you signed up at the right place?

Sounds like you incorrectly signed up for the region restricted version on the Amazon direct website.

Did you get an offer for 6-months at $2.99 per month? If not you got the wrong thing.

I get the same content on my Roku, Fire Stick, or browser - IOW the full US catalogue.
