Amazon to open 100 physical stores

Could be a very good way to get people scarednof buying online to give it a try.

Amazon will reportedly display its Kindle e-readers, Fire TV, and Echo speakers at the new stores

aaah so basically an iStore for Amazon devices, was wondering how they plan to fit even 10% of the total Amazon product catalog in a shop :D

Poor journalism again, headline should be "Amazon plan to open another 100 physical stores"

From the article

Amazon currently has 16 pop-up stores in the US.

Amazon is a marketplace. vendors contribute hugely to the online product catalogue. I do not see how they will go to retail with these parties instore, they might try instore amazon kiosks where you can order online and collect instore.

You should invoice Kevin for the lesson in how to do a little research :p

It has mostly to do with the article they had 'quoted', http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-big-expansion-retail-pop-up-stores-2016-9 as the additional stores may have opened up over the weekend.

As of August, Amazon had 16 pop-up stores in the US — nearly three times as many as the six it had at the end of last year, according to the source. That number is expected to exceed 30 this year and could go up to as many as 100 by next year, as new stores are popping up almost every week in shopping malls across the country, this person said.

In fact, Amazon quietly launched a new site dedicated to its pop-up stores; it shows 21 now. The stores are spread across 12 states, including New York and Texas, with California owning the most (six).

As I have it, the bookstores will be separate to the pop-up stores. They have only opened up one bookstore to date, but more is to be expected. This may amount to more than 100 physical stores by next year.
