Hey guys,

Recently my mom went to hospital, she was diagnosed with diabetes but she is well now.

She stays at a nursing home, so the ambulance had to pick her up and take her to Linksfield hospital.

Medical aid said they have paid Netcare 911 for the service (and they have).

However, I have received a letter/invoice (exactly like the ones for Lights/Water/Rates) from Joburg Metro.

The account is called an "Ambulance Account" and they're charging me R206.00. Does anyone know what the hell this is for?

No service or any mention of what they're charging me for. Just an amount owing for R206.00.

I am asking here because trying to get through that call center is getting me nowhere.

Thanks

Find out what portion your medical aid has paid towards the netcare's services, and compare the pricetag. Its possible that its one and the same, otherwise it could be the shortfall that your medical aid does not cover.

Hey,

I have the invoice from Netcare 911 for the ambulance service and I have checked my moms claims on their website (Discovery). They have paid for the service in full. I have even phoned them, and they tell me it was paid in full and there were no restrictions/limits imposed.

Thanks

Then i can only suggest, take the account you were sent, and query it and submit proof of payment by your medical aid to Netcare - I work in the medical field, and Its a common fact their account divisions are dodgy at best. If they can get away with charging you for something, they will try - if you don't query, they get away with it!.
