AMD 7th Generation A-Series processors now shipping

Anyone have some proper benchmarks yet, it doesnt bode well if it performs like an i5 6500 yet costs the same if not more... I dont really care about the gfx performance....
 
I'll wait for Zen. Nice that AM4 mobos are now entering the market.

While that may be the case it's a bit premature to ask such questions. This is merely a refresh of their existing architecture so pricing/performance won't change much. The big boys come in 2017. If you're in the market segment of an all in one system there's no Intel system that can beat it though.
 
Maybe time to upgrade my old tri-core AMD HTPC ;)

Mine been going strong for close to 8 years now.

If you want/need to upgrade now, then spend some money on the right montherboard (AM4), this will last you years, and get you a "quick" to Zen next year, as CPUs and APUs will run on the AM4 platform. This was actually a very good thing from AMD. The days of replacing your whole system to get the latest processor is almost over ...

Also, the article is nice, but where can you buy these newly released HW?
Any plans from Takealot, Raru, Wootware, etc?
