Has AMD finally created a chip to surpass Intel? Hmm.. I think it's a real possibility!
Although 8 cores?? Really? Suppose it depends on the pricing, but they should maybe focus on 4 and 6 cores for now and keep costs lower.. Software still playing lots of catch up to even use 6 cores..

It's only coming out next year. It does look like good competition for Intel, however more in the server space, and not so much in the consumer space. It's a server CPU, and servers do make good use of all core generally. What's interesting about it is every core has two independent integer cores and a single shared floating point core. This makes a lot of sense for server workloads, which are primarily integer code.
