Hey

Just got got the processor about a week ago, but something is puzzeling me about it. My cpuid reports that cpu temp is 21 at idle and 39 max onder load for 6 hours. Is that possoble?

Ok I have a Cpu cooler that is not stock but I only payed R350 for it.

I'm overclocking it as well now and that is my overclock temp. IF those temps is correct should I overclock more?

It 'might' be that the temp reader on the CPU is broken.. What I'd do is leave the CPU in Bios for a couple of minutes after startup and then have a look at the temps from there. (Hardware Monitor or something to that effect will have the temps there). Open HWMonitor up as soon as you boot Windows and see how closely those two temps relate to each other..

How far did you OC it and is it still at the same temps?

39'C max is most definitely possible.

I mean, our i3 540's are running below 35'C on the stock cooler after being under load for a long time.

With a R280's cooler (Coolermaster Hyper 212+) you can OC an i5 2500k to like 4.5GHz while the temperatures remain below 60'C. So ja, if you have a decent R300 worth's cooler it's most definitely possible for your temperatures to remain below 40'C.
I would suggest that you also try out HWMonitor from CPUID.
