Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) today cut prices for its mobile Turion 64, Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64 for full-size notebooks, Sempron, and mobile Sempron CPUs for desktop PCs and notebooks, with the steepest reduction in the mobile Turion 64 line, according to the price list on the company’s website.

In contrast, prices for its Opteron, Athlon 64, and Athlon 64 FX CPU lines remain unchanged. The AMD Athlon 64 CPUs for desktop replacements was no longer listed on the CPU price list released by the chip vendor.

Socket-A and Socket-754 Sempron processors have also been removed from AMD’s price list, as well as the Athlon 64 3000+/ 2800+ and mobile Athlon 64 2800+.

tsk tsk this Person and his negativity towards AMD .... if only he saw the light;)]
I'v seen the light just Intels light was much brighter than AMD's

hehehe, the light is brighter cause the CPU is running so damn hot! its probably the glow of the near melting point heatsink ;)

Intel for the BURN!

Person, a pity an AMD FX-57 crushes the Intel Extreme Edition 840 in gaming & most other apps.

Also AMD's dual-core solutions murder the Intel equivalent.

This is true.

hey Intel's Intel and AMD is AMD and that my friend is the problem...

Thank goodness for that, have you seen how much market share Intel has lost in the last financial year.

Anyone who know a decent ammount about how processors work and how important the heat factor is will know that AMD is kicking Inhels @SS at the moment.

Intel inside, idiot outside......

Problem is most major OEM's [Dell; HP; Gateway] get major discounts from Intel if they use their chips.

And let's face it, most PC users buy from OEM's

Computer users have no excuse because PCs have to carry the Warning " Intel Inside "

A new Socket A Motherboard can use a CPU from the very first 600 Mkz right up to the Bartons and Semprons. Intel on the other hand seem to change boards every six months, and I am forever having people looking for motherboards for their orphaned CPUs - A Problem you do not get with AMD - Sadly a lot of IT people are blind to this fact and the real idiots are often heard muttering something about AMD overheat, if you have such a person in your organisation get rid of them quick
