AMD Mantle delayed due to Battlefield 4 bugs

AMD and DICE have decided to hold on to their Mantle API update while Battlefield 4 bugs are fixed

I'm wondering if Mantle was a ploy to get peopl to buy AMD over Nvidia?
Now they've realized it was far from ready so seeing as the xmas buying period is over, wamo.

I doubt that, but I also had no faith in their ability to get it out on schedule. This is a huge chunk of work. Video drivers evolve over many years; it's not a simple thing to say we're going to create a hardware-level graphical API and then just make it happen. And when it does release, I'd also expect real performance to be quite tempered from the overenthusiastic promises we've seen.
