Hi guys,

I recently bought an old amd mobo Supertek KT133A ST-KTVAE.

The problem is i dont have the user manual and i dont know how the cables for the power(led+switch),reset, hdd led and speakers go.

Please can someone help me find this manual?

Search results on google were dismal. Atleast a few posts about the board and a shopping website.

I know from experience that my old amd mobo user manual had instructions on how to connect the pins but they were still wrong...so maybe i should try different combonitions till one works...but that may mess up the mobo...:/

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx!

but that may mess up the mobo...:/

no, it wont.

just run a screwdriver over the pins until you find the two that powers it up. connect pwr switch to those two.

then take the led connector and start trying it...it will only work one way round, so there are twice as many possibilities than the power switch, but the whole job shouldnt take more than a minute

reset+hdd led is optional in my house, but feel free to connect them using trial and error method of elimination above

Hi Werner thanx for the feedback. The computer does startup so i am assuming that the connectors are fine even though the screen is blank.

They guy i bought the mobo from says that the cmos could be dead. I know have to transfer my old cmos to the new mobo :( man this is a schlep

my gfx card works on the old mobo. i tested it out. its definitely the way i connected the cables to the pins or the cmos battery.

Can you upload a good clear photo of the full mobo and a detailed close-up of the pin rack where the power/reset/etc pins go, and we can try and help you out - Super Tek mobo info is very difficult to source these days... alternatively e-mail the pics to me at: clearout at hbmsystems dot net

Thanx Howardb, i will do that tomorrow. I am not sure where my digital camera is atm but i will load a pic asap. I am also going to test the CMOS voltage tomorrow as well. I am bit tired atm.

Eyenstyn says it powers up but no display which is one of the 1st signs of bad mobo, bad gpu or bad psu.

gpu works in another system so that is ruled out, only 2 things left and the reset etc have nothing to do with no display.

I still say mobo is shot

I think i need to flash the bios and change the cpu. He did say the cpu wasnt recognised by the mobo.

I am not sure how to flash the bios. I read that i need to connect my stiffy drive and create an autoexec with bios settings on the stiffy as well.

The cmos battery has 2 Volt charge, so i think its correct.

I am also considering on reseting the jumper cable settings. To get oem settings. I am not sure where it is though.

The computer starts up! I am now installing windows :)

I changed the cmos battery and replaced the cpu with an older 1500XP. The cmos had a 2 Volt charge the new one has a 3 Volt charge.

It could have been either of the 2 reasons but i think it was the cpu. the seller did hint that it was unrecognisable by the motherboard.

I am happy now! :D

Thanx everyone who took the time out to read my thread and help out :)
