AMD or Intel?

hmmm... thaty\ would be very cunning making a AMD CPU that is primarily linked to an ATI graphics card, and then they make it in a way that the cpu and gpu can share tasks to aid in performance. But when used with an intel CPU, It's not that great, but It's competition with Nvidia, But when coupled with an AMD CPU , It's gonna blow every one out the water, and I will be you, that that idea will simple rape, and every one will go for AMD/ATI

But For now, go with a simple Intel E6420... And a R1000 mobo, as you not Overclocking

I'm saddened by AMD having ATI, ATI and their crap "you need .NET framework 2" drivers should just die in a fire. nvidias drivers are so nice...

Yeah, Hope is cheap it never fades, reality on the other hand.........

Unfortunately the ATI division is not pulling in enough to keep them afloat. At this point AMD's future rests on their next CPU line being a *ahem* "phenom"enal success or an investment company injecting a massive amount of capital. They only have a small window though as once Intel brings out Nehalem it may be game over.

Ja, this is what I've been reading, didn't realise it was that serious at first. You'd think 2 years of having the best chips around could hold them up longer than 9 months of Core2 domination :/ More to it I'm sure..

I wonder if another chip maker would break through if there was only Intel left. I'm guessing it's very hard to break into the market :/

Oh, and .net bloatware is ftw. You guys are just being silly.

Great find, IMHO one of the best, clear and factual articles re future of PC hardware for a long time, No Hype. and of course from the viewpoint of a chip-maker ALA Intel, that would not necessarily be the same from Nvidias viewpoint but you can understand the gravity of GPU power required for future graphic display demands.

AMd is not going to suffer anything. Where GPU's go Intel is a good 3years if not more behind ATI. Don't get it twisted Intel may be at the forefront of CPU design with AMD, but where gfx processing power and where GPGPU is concerned they cant' hold a candle to ATI on their best day and ATI on their worst.

Mark my words, Phenom is fast, faster than Core2 and by quiet a bit clock for clock. With increasing clock speeds it'll only get more so...

Did you fail to read any posts in this thread? It doesn't matter how awesome the ATI GPU is, if it's not pulling in enough profit to keep AMD afloat then either it will go under with AMD or get sold off. Also Intel practically owns the low end of the GPU market. Hardcore gamers and professionals only make up a tiny percentage of overall sales.

If you're going to be a fanboy at least get your facts straight.

This is the whole reason why AMD bought ATI. Because they need the chipset market for business machines. They need an all in one solution.
