American Shooting

When I saw that picture, before reading his "bio", I immediately thought computer nerd: ponytail - snap, ponytail beard - snap/snap....those little glasses - snap....that shirt - snap.

I bet you he can root the fuk out of any Linux distro...

Sounds like a disillusioned, narcissistic douche bag as well.

What??

Suspect in custody, don’t know his identification yet as he had no ID on him.
Actually good news. Having the guy alive it should be much easier to proof he did this because of the cocktail of antidepressants he is taking mix with some stupid vindictive nihilism.

June 29th is the 180th day of 2018... This is the 195th mass shooting in the US this year.

That's a VERY loose definition of "mass shooting" just for the sake of drama I guess.

Literally a week ago there was a shootout at a taxi rank on my commute to work and the road was closed, 4 people injured, THAT would make this list by their definition. Sure as hell wasn't a "mass shooting", just taxi thugs having a shootout.

The Associated Press is reporting that the suspect in the shooting mutilated his fingers in an apparent attempt to prevent law enforcement from identifying him by his fingerprints.

Despite the mutilation, however, investigators were able to identify the suspect using facial recognition technology, according to the AP.

The suspect’s identity has not been released to the public.

Was it Trump's son?

Ramos sued the paper, Hartley and Marquardt over a column Hartley wrote in 2011 about Ramos’ guilty plea to criminal harassment, according to The Capital. Prince George’s Circuit Court Judge Maureen M. Lamasney dismissed the lawsuit in 2013, saying Hartley’s article was based on public records and that Ramos had no evidence it was inaccurate.

Aah, ok. So now he kills a bunch of people, he must be innocent.

Hell, I suppose I could have gone with the Mass Shootings in America Database. They count from three fatal or nonfatal injuries, so your taxi rank example wouldn't have cut it with those good folk... I prefer The Mass Shooting Tracker and Gun Violence Archive 'tho, and they happen to start the count at four fatal or nonfatal injuries.

never understood why there are so many mass shootings in America, hardly ever in Canada.
is it something in the water or something?

its almost every week or something.

RIP to those that passed away.

and because of that I'll take anything they say with a pinch of salt

So where is your baseline? 17 dead like Parklands? 49 dead like Pulse? Maybe the grandaddy... 58 dead and 851 injured like Las Vegas?

I read an article not so long ago about shooting being recorded in the Cape Flats. That is one single area and it is more than the US. Which is probably 100X the size of SA...

Those are gangsters, involved in crime as a way of life.

In the US, it's apparently random dudes who just suddenly lose it.

Do you see the difference?

I see the difference, but without context it's nothing but a number right? Just puts it into context a bit.

Edit: 109 farm attacks in the year so far 35 deaths (last number I saw) And the US as whole stands on 195 mass shootings. A country with 325 million people.

Retarded gun laws, morons who treat guns like they are toys and big pharma.

I reckon it's a bit futile to try and nail down a "correct" number, but with the dictionary definition of "mass" being "a large number of people" you're basically asking what number constitutes "a large number".

4 certainly is not large, when I have a family dinner with 4 people I don't go around claiming it was a mass dinner. So while I can confidently say 4 is not "mass", I can't really say what number would qualify as "mass". Double digits at a minimum I imagine.
