American Shooting

Let's crunch some numbers:

Not even using taxi violence or daily shootings like in Cape flats. Comparing farm attacks to Mass shootings in the US.

Population in the US - 325mil
SA - 56mil

So America has 5.80 times more people than in SA.

They had 195 mass shootings till date, SA had 109 farm attacks.

If the US had 56mil people that would come to 33.62 mass shootings compared to our 109 farm attacks with 35 killed farmers. So still farm attacks and even farm murders are more than that of the US. So in comparison SA farm attacks are 3.24 times worse than mass shootings in the US and farmers killed 1.04 times.

Jusus, I think the liberals on MyBB have their views a bit skewed :o

Btw, SA has very good gun control laws in place.

If we were to add daily shootings and killings of which 4 or more have been killed or injured our Number will outshine that of the US by miles! Yet, MyBB liberals think discussing gun controls in the US is better than discussing farm murders.

Why are you comparing mass shootings to murders? Should you be comparing the number of people who are killed in these mass shootings to the number of farmers killed? As it is, you're implying that one person is killed in each US mass shooting, which is false! Your own numbers show that a farmer is killed in three attacks while at least 4 people (thumb suck) get killed in every mass shooting?

:erm:

Mass shooting <> farm (one property, not a public place) attack.

Doesn't it seem like comparing oranges to apples to you? What is the actual relevance of comparing two completely unrelated types of crimes?

I'm usually quite aligned with your opinion on farm attacks but cannot see the point you are trying to make here.

Please stop enabling Pitbull's whataboutism.

Can we be more specific about the thread title or is this a catch all thread?

By comparison, I was showing that we had more Farm murders than they even had Mass shootings if you take into account the population size. I don't see how that is hard to understand

But as I have said in the previous post. It's not an American political issue, so who cares right?

Several killed in mass shooting at US video game tournament: officials

Several people have been killed in a mass shooting at a video game tournament in the northern Florida city of Jacksonville, local police said Sunday, adding that one suspect was dead.

"Multiple fatalities at the scene, many transported," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tweeted, adding that it was unclear whether there was a second possible gunman.

"Stay far away from the area. The area is not safe at this time. STAY AWAY."

The Miami Herald newspaper said the shooting happened at a video game tournament and counted four dead and 11 wounded.

In subsequent tweets, police said they were still searching The Landing entertainment and shopping complex, where the Madden 19 tournament was being held at the GLHF Game Bar.

Madden is the official video game of the National Football League.

Police urged people hiding in locked areas of the complex to stay in place and call 911.

CompLexity Gaming, one of the gaming teams, said its player Drini Gjoka was grazed on his hand.

"I will never take anything for granted ever again. Life can be cut short in a second," he tweeted.
