BASIC RIFLE MARKSMANSHIP
Open By: Opened from Start
Location: Fort Benning, Georgia
Weapon(s): M16A2 Rifle
Qualification: Hit at least 23 targets to pass as a Marksman.

This will be the first thing you need to complete in the game. It will introduce you to using weapons, in particular the standard M16A2 rifle. The training takes place on a firing range.

You start off the training listening to your instructor. After he's finished talking, go over to the table and pick up an M16 like he tells you, then turn left and go out into firing point 9 (drop into the hole).

At this point, the instructor will let you fire your gun and learn the basics. You can use this time as practice for the upcoming test. Remember the "r" key reloads, the right mouse button switches between the firing modes, and the "z" key zooms in and lets you see through the sights. Shoot off two rounds, and you'll automatically go outside of the hole. Here you can crouch ("c" key) or lie down in the prone position ("x" key). Note that while crouched, the amount of swaying while zoomed is decreased, and that while lying down, swaying is almost eliminated. After dispensing of two more rounds, it'll be time for the test.

During the test, the targets will pop up in front of you one at a time in a random fashion. There will be a total of 40 targets. Hit the following number of targets to obtain certain titles:

Hit Below 23 Targets: Fail to qualify
Hit 23-29 Targets: Qualify and obtain Marksman rating
Hit 30-35 Targets: Qualify and obtain Sharpshooter rating
Hit 36-40 Targets: Qualify and obtain Expert Marksman rating, and qualify for Sniper School
You will have two rounds of ammunition to complete the test with. That means if you're going to get a perfect 40 targets, you can't miss once. The first round will have you firing while in the fighting (standing)
stance, while the second will have you firing while in the prone (lying down) stance.

The key to passing the test and getting the higher ratings is using your zoom. Firing while not zoomed is very inaccurate. While zoomed, try to aim the middle of the target up with the top of the vertical sight. Keep in mind that you will sway due to breathing while zoomed, so try to fire in between breaths. In the prone position, swaying is minimal, so
it should be much easier to hit the targets.

If you're going for the Expert rating (which is required if you wish to enter Sniper School), you can only have 4 bullets miss or miss four targets. This is very difficult to do. Don't waste too many bullets on one target; if you've already shot two bullets at a target and missed, leave it. You should hit all of your targets while in the prone position, so the pressure is on during the first half.

BCT OBSTACLE COURSE
Open By: Complete Basic Rifle Marksmanship
Location: Fort Benning, Georgia
Weapon(s): None
Qualification: Complete obstacle course in 1:30 or less

With your basic weapon skills already learned, now you'll learn the basics of moving and getting around.

The Obstacle Course is fairly simple. Be sure to stay between the white posts for the whole course. Before each portion, your instructor will explain to you what you need to do, and an explanation of how to do that with your keyboard and mouse will flash onto the screen.

After you go through the course one time to learn it, you'll go through a second time. This time, however, you only have 1 minute and 30 seconds to get through everything and complete this phase of training. As long as you don't mess up, it shouldn't be a problem. There are a few tips to help you go faster, though:

First of all, be sure the sprint whenever there is an open stretch of ground (and even over narrow beams). Try to keep your time lying down (getting under fences, barbed wire) to a minimum by running close to the obstacle and then dropping down. If the instructor tells you to do something over, you must do it.

U.S. WEAPONS FAMILIARIZATION
Open By: Complete BCT Obstacle Course
Location: Fort Benning, Georgia
Weapon(s): M-249 Machine Gun, M-203 Rifle, M-67 Framentary Grenade, M-83 Smoke Grenade
Qualification: Familiarize yourself with all weapons

This phase of training does not involve any sort of test. Instead, you will simply get a chance to practice with each of the weapons listed above. Follow the instructions of the instructor and use the weapons on the firing range.

After expending all of the ammo in a weapon, or whenever you feel ready to go on, proceed down to the next station. Remember to press the "e" key to pick up weapons and ammo.

MOUT TRAINING (The Shoothouse)
Open By: Complete U.S. Weapons Familiarization
Location: Fort Benning, Georgia
Weapon(s): M4A1, M9, Flashbang Grenades
Qualification: Practice and learn CQB techniques

Objectives: A.--Breach and clear all rooms within the shoothouse within alotted time
B.-- Minimize friendly and non-combatant casualties

Start off this training excersize by listening to your drill sergeant and picking up your preferred weapon(s) of choice on the table. No matter what, it is suggested that you pick up the flashbangs, because using them will "stun" opfor's and the targets will stay up slightly longer. Once you have chosen your weapons, proceed into the shoothouse at the drill sergeants command.

Now, you must identify opfor and friendly targets in each room and fire on the opfor's while holding your fire on friendly and non-combatant targets. However, this must be done with haste, after the buzzer sounds and the red light appears, the targets dont count and its time to move on to the next room (under the red light, usually). At the end of the course, you will walk outside of the shoothouse to the sergeant. He will show you your score (assuming you have your graphics, textures i think, turned up high enough) and how it is figured.

If you've scored a 10,000 or higher, congratulations soldier, you've based basic training.

Special Force's Escape and Evade Walkthrough

Background
This is by far the hardest training mission if you don't know where to go. You are dropped off at night and have to navigate 3 way points without being detected. There is really only one path through the camp, and if spotted you have to go back to the last waypoint you reached. Luckily, the mission is not timed.

Objectives:
-Reach waypoint A without being spotted
-Reach waypoint B without being spotted
-Reach waypoint C without being spotted
-Honk truck horn to be extracted.

Objective A

This is a very long mission, so be sure you can set aside a large chunk of time to complete it. The helicopter instructor gives you a few tips as you make your way through the camp to the insertion point. Once you drop down, go prone. Throughout this mission, you should always stay prone to avoid being spotted. Looking South. you will see a man sitting in a little hut with a lamp on the table. He's only an instructor, so don't worry about being spotted by him. Head west until you hit the rock wall, then turn south. Go through the little trees (don't worry about the noise made by the leaves) and you should see a guard SE on the top of the ravine. Here the road splits into branches headed W and SW. Stick with the west road. You should come to a tree on the other side of the ravine and a bright light through the branches. Keep going west through the next set of trees. You should now come on a west heading to the ravine wall on your left and a large boulder on your right. There is a small gap between the two you can squeeze through. Once in the trees you should have a pretty good view of the camp to the NW. When you hit the next set of trees look up the ravine wall (south). Your instructor told you to stay on the ground but we'll break the rule for a moment. Head south up the ravine wall. To the SW you should see a guard tower and a bridge. Stay on the left side of the little valley you are in. When the valley opens up you should see a guard near the trees on a west heading. Head down the mountain and go towards the bridge. You will reach Checkpoint A just before you get to the bridge.

Objective B

You are now facing the bridge. Head right down the ravine. Once at the bottom head west until you hit a large rock. Go around the rock and up the hill until you end up in a clump of bushes. You should be on the other side of the bridge with Objective A behind you. The guard tower on your left will be shining a searchlight on the road in front of you. Hug the side of the mountain and head west until you reach the next clump of trees. Keep going west until you reach a fork in the road. One heads NW and the other SW. Take the SW branch and follow it until you see another guard tower south of you. Now you have the choice of either going straight up the hill (S) or following the ravine (SE). Follow the ravine SE until it curves south. You should now see a path up the hill and the ravine staying roughly south with a bunch of trees in it. Go as slow as you can and stay in the ravine. Head towards the trees. Go very slowly and follow the ravine until you can see a large hill in front of you with some very large trees. You are almost there. Stay in the middle of the ravine and heads towards Objective B on your compass. You are getting very close to it when you can start to see a guard tower light off to the SW.

Objective C

Head SW towards the large guard tower. Now comes the toughest part of the E & E training. You should see two large boulders with a tree in the middle. Crawl slowly towards the first boulder. You should be able to almost get to the tree before the guard tower can see you. Also note the guard on the far ridge due west of your position. Now the guard tower light has 5 positions: a little past the far rock, the far rock, the tree, the rock next to you, and a little behind the rock next to you. Wait for the light to go behind the rock next to you and crawl quickly past the tree and far boulder. The should be a tree next to the far boulder you can safely hide in. Follow the canyon SW until you come to a bridge. There should be a guard tower to the left of the bridge, and a Humvee to the far right. Go down the hill into the little stream and head west. You should see a large tree growing out of the side of the left embankment. You can use the nearby rock and crawl up the side of the hill if you crouch. Once up you should be able to see a truck to your SW. This is your final objective. Go prone and move towards the truck. Be careful about making too much noise; the humvee and guards are next to you. Also next to the truck is a guy sitting in a little hut like the one near your starting position. Don't worry about him; he's only another instructor. As you are heading towards the truck you should hit Objective C. Now all you have to do is flash the lights to get extracted. Head towards the driver's side door of the truck and "use" the truck to end the mission. (Warrior Nation America's Army Info Thread)
