Among Us is okay. I tried it since it was punted in the Factorio thread. As a party game it is cool, but people are cheating on the public servers. I have spent years in the online gaming community, and it is evident went people use voice chat in a team to their advantage. I know when a player is cheating.

I'm rather hooked on this game, as stupid as it is, its great fun
It was cheap and wasnt that bad. I had fun playing it.
But I find myself playing and watching minecraft more.

It has grown in popularity with version 2. It has been around, and was initially punted as a party game like the Jack and Scribble series. The developers made a promise, they will keep their public servers online as long as they have an active player base, and the day it dies out it will go open-source.
Didnt they cancel version 2 to focus on the original version?
It got popular when some big streamers started playing it.... and then everyone started playing it.
Last night AOC, Ilhan and pokimane had a twitch.tv stream game going. 3rd highest twitch viewership for an individuals stream.

Also found that playing on discord sucks, because of the tryhards.

Yes and no. They were in the process to develop Among Us 2, but cancelled the development, due to Among Us (1) growth in popularity. Instead, they opted to pour everything they planned for Among Us 2 into Among Us. This decision resulted in a lot of love for the Among Us project.

It is just a bastardised version of Mafia. Mafia is colourful whereas this game is just dull. It was very cool for 3 days and then I was over it. Deleted it.
