Couldn't help but chuckle at this one.....

Have a look at the Nashua Mobile specials page .

About half way down Vodacom are offering the E220 USB modem and CellC are offering their USB modem and both of them require 'Mandatory CLI at R7.50pm'.

Was just trying to figure out exactly how you would use Caller Line Identity on a USB modem...

Anything to keep our cell phone fat cats in the way to which they've become accustomed, I suppose.

I hate useless compulsory monthly charges, which is why I eventually opted for a 4U contract for data bundles - there are no compulsory monthly charges like itemised billing & CLI on a 4U contract - it basically costs R0.00/month.

A pity that we don't see any HSDPA modems being offered as an add-on to the basic 4U contract - maybe an idea for the retail service provider stores to consider offering...
