An alternative to WoW?

Seems a lot of people are looking interest in WoW due to either having played to death or have just grown tired of the grind. So where lies the next big thing? Runes of Magic - technically free WoW could this be it? What do you think is the next big game?

Played Runes of Magic and I think it still needs a lot of work. All the characters look the same (they're all human) and the gameplay is kinda boring.

I'm hoping the next big patch for WoW will revive the game again. 3.0.x didn't take long to be cleared =/

heh... i would actually be surprised if there is a decent, really awesome, mind blowing and just ZOMG mmo yet to come.

maybe kotor, immortal, aion or gw2....

Tbh, I do not know of anything new or mindblowing. Personally I think online games are like cellphone contracts. Different companies, different packaging of their products but you end up with more or less the same product range.

I think Necuno is right, I am getting old...

I have also become bored of wow over the years (especialy since wotlk) and stopped playing , since then i have tried warhammer , guild wars, FFXI online but nothing has caught my fancy ,as boring as wow is atm there is nothing better in terms of gfx, gameplay simplicity, desighn etc.

However there are a few hopefulls being released later this year.

Try surfing porn on a wireless connection. There are many good reasons for this. Firstly, you get to see real humans doing the only thing humans really should do. No role play or magic, maybe a bit of foreplay if hardcore is not your game. Secondly, you are using wireless to do this so there is no relapsing into your WoWstate. Hey, you can even do this using your phone while you are in the crapper so none of that crap where mom walks into the room with your laundry (washed and neatly folded) while you are in the middle of something. And about the graphics - jeez - let me just say it can be pretty graphic. Gameplay should not be a problem if you are a WoW player as your w4nk hand (that is porn lingo for your mouse hand) should be well skilled from all the hours you wasted playing WoW on a ADSL line from a company that does you like the dude does the chick in the porno...

You won't succeed much in Ulduar if you arent geared up from Naxx 10/25, Malygos 10/25 and OS 10/25 :p

From the way you speak, its as if you have cleared everything :p

I find Runes of Magic a very nice game for a F2P game that's still in Beta
Its wasted alot of MMO's ive played and the best parts of it are stil to come ;D

Thanks, thank you, and special thanks to Keeper for giving me this excellent Post of the Week award.
I would like to thank my wife and my family for giving me a real life filled with lots of adventures and dramas thereby keeping me from faking it in lame online role playing games. I would also like to thank the ANC for regularly giving me even more real life worries and thereby keeping me from faking it in lame online role playing games. To my bank, ABSA, thanks for keeping me awake at night worried about the homeloan I have to repay thereby keeping me from faking it in lame online role playing games.

And lastly thanks to the internet, I enjoy the pronos you give me on my lag prone wireless connection. Really if it was not for that I would probably be faking all of this in lame online role playing games :p
