Major Absa Rewards changes — how to ensure you don’t lose your tier status

Absa has changed the earning rules of its rewards programme, which could affect some customers’ Reward Tier when they kick in on 16 January.

The bank informed customers about the upcoming changes in December and published a document detailing the changes early in the new year.

doubt, look at the requirements just to get to tier 2 and then check the possible rewards....

I did better with PnP Smartshopper than with ABSA rewards, I think I only got about R200 in rewards for 2023.

Strange. Never had a homeloan or car loan but still managed an average of R200-R500 p/m on tier 2

Almost impossible to get Tier 3 or more unless you have those long term loan products.

But do you have a transactional, credit card and a savings product with them?

Yes, had for years. I just don't bother to query it. Every time something changes it's just a lot of hoops to jump through to listed to nonsense.

I have a Cheque, Credit card, I do online banking and my income get deposited into my cheque account.
