Overview:
The Candidate will perform, deploy and operate work that pertains to Open Systems Storage operations..

Duties and Responsibilities
• Deployment and operation of Open Systems Storage Infrastructure
• Preventative – (refreshes upgrades, replacement and re-active (2nd and 3rd level) maintenance, backup, restore and user access processes.
• Resolution of incidents and problems in accordance with service level agreements.
• Maintenance of run books for the storage infrastructure.
• Interaction with Products and Services and infrastructure solution delivery to optimise and maintain Open Systems Storage infrastructure service.
• Software vendor’s maintenance agreements, interactions and relationship with suppliers and vendors
• Support to operational controls processes (Audits, Risk and DR & BCM governance, business processes improvements, performance management, finance and business management).

Knowledge & Qualifications
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of VERITAS Storage Foundation, SAN (EMC² DMX, VMX, Switching) and NAS (HP Storage Works, Modular SMART arrays.
• National Senior Certificate
• FAIS Certification
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
• Good business writing and reporting skills

Experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in operation and administration of VERITAS storage Foundation, SAN (EMC² DMX, VMX, Switching), NAS (HP Storage works, modular SMART arrays) and related monitoring and management tools (eg.TSM, TPC, Command Central, Hitachi and EMC Tuning and device manager)
• Demonstrable track record
• Good understanding of the current state of IT infrastructure, specifically Open Systems Storage.
