THE Democratic Alliance (DA) is being backed by an unlikely force in Britstown, Northern Cape, in local government elections later this month — the provincial leadership of the South African Communist Party (SACP) and the Young Communist League.
They are demanding that the African National Congress (ANC) remove its "unpopular" candidate from the party’s list.

This defiance from the SACP is likely to increase tension with its alliance partner in the already volatile Emthanjeni municipality.
"We love the ANC but unfortunately the local, regional and provincial leadership has failed us," Booi Welkom, SACP executive member , said yesterday.

"We are now forced to vote for the Democratic Alliance to protest against this candidate."

Seems like they anc screwed up their candidate list pretty much everywhere. Not that I'm complaining :D

At least these guys have the common sense to still vote.... and to vote for a better candidate.

I wish they would do that everywhere.

Listening to debate on 702 - i notice that the ID speakers are pushing people to vote for DA

Thats because the ID is part of the DA now. How did you miss that? It was quite a big event about a year ago
