ANC demands more election coverage from SABC

The ANC has been engaging in heated exchanges with the SABC regarding the party's election coverage this past week, according to a report in the City Press.

The party's head of elections Fikile Mbalula reportedly accused the public broadcaster of implementing a "clampdown" and "blackout" against ANC election coverage.

If the SABC can't even afford a cup of coffee right now, then how the hell can the ANC expect them to afford more election coverage? It's partly thanks to them that the SABC finds itself in the pitiful financial situation it's in right now.

The SABC serves the people and the government, party and state are supposed to be separate, perhaps pay for your extra coverage? I mean the SABC can barely pay for anything and now you want them to cover you for what?

Nice to see that the SABC is finally growing some balls and is not overtly the master's voice any more. The ANC has deliberately not filled all the vacancies on the board to keep the SABC compliant and without a quorum.
