Clearly the black middle class isn't large enough. That is the only chance the country has of holding govt to account for these services.
The middle class is large enough to make a world of difference at this point, especially in educating their own about what is going on. The situation is complex no doubt, but for many it seems that things are just too comfy at this point to voice real concern (ie. if they maintain the status quo in this situation they stand to benefit). Some are still fuelled by a misguided sense of loyalty and many came out of, what was a worse situation. Bottom line is that seems like there is no real voice of contention from the people who could really make a difference as well as holding relevant parties accountable - with the same, tired old blame-shifting and excuses we endure on a daily basis being non-applicable of course.
