Clearly they didn't vote for the candidate who was forced on them.

If the majority vote the ANC out, then why would the same majority resort to violence to get them in again????

Oh, I'm pretty sure Umkhonto we Sizwe and other ANC loyalists will no doubt be in a royal huff and spark some sort of civil unrest. Don't get me wrong, I doubt it'll last long at all if it even gets that far, I just doubt that ANC's loyalists would snuff it without a bit of a whoosh :)

And of course I read the article, otherwise I wouldn't be commenting on it. Thanks.
 
Are all White south Africans so thick they call a govt elected by the majority, a dictatorship ?

You should be seeing situations like this as opportunities instead you resort to insulting the very majority you should be trying to win over. Then you wonder why they don't trust you, and continue to vote for the ANC.

You're suggesting we should coddle the majority like children to win them over? I guess that works if you're feeling awfully paternal. However, what if you're not?

Yeah I doubt the ANC would step aside if they lost an election. Soon as they start struggling at the polls you'll see a spike in voter intimidation and "irregularities" in the vote counting......

I get that feeling too. I don't think the ANC will ever let it get that far. They'll turn the screws on the masses long before it comes to an election loss for them. And you know who's going to be the convenient scapegoat when that happens, don't you?

But of course. What I find amusing is the "You should go out of your way to win the majority over" logic. Surely if they need to be coddled and spoon-fed then they shouldn't be voting in the first place? It's sort of a double-edged blade to say that the voting majority is too immature to trust non-racially-affiliated parties. Makes you wonder what right such a discriminatory-minded electorate has to vote.

Court dismisses ANC ECape list case

Strangely enough this decision may help the Opposition Parties as it will cause many voters to stay away; they are not happy with the ward nomination process.

Disgruntled ANC members resorted to court action in an attempt to nullify party structures created with the establishment of new municipal boundaries. They wanted the court to nullify all election work conducted in the region, including selection of candidates to run in the upcoming local government elections. Mabuyane said the group had also sought to be placed on the candidate lists.

Mabuyane said members from the Amathole and Buffalo City regions were taking similar action the Grahamstown High Court on Thursday. The court battles threaten to derail the ANC's submission of its election lists on time. The Independent Electoral Commission deadline is Friday, March 25.

And these are 3 big ANC areas in the EC that are up in arms; Alfred Nzo (Kokstad, Mount Ayliff, Mount Frere area), Amathole (Cathcart, Stutterheim, Kei Road area) and Buffalo City (East London, Bisho, King Williamstown area).
 
Well this hopefully is a turning point for them. I just pray that the people who the people have chosen are better choices than the ones their political parties have.
