Embattled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema has been summarily suspended from the ANC following his remarks made at Wits University on Friday evening that President Jacob Zuma was a dictator.
This suspension does not form a part of the disciplinary process against Malema that resulted in his expulsion, a sentence he is currently appealing.
The Mail & Guardian understands that the party's national disciplinary committee (NDC) met late on Tuesday where it decided to impose the suspension on Malema, effective immediately.
It is understood that the NDC delivered a letter to Malema informing him of the suspension on Wednesday morning.
This means that Malema is forbidden from attending any ANC meetings, including those of the national executive committee and national working committee, of which he is a member.
He is also now prohibited from attending meetings of the Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee, to which he was elected in December.
In the letter, the NDC told Malema that his suspension did not affect or negate the appeal process against his expulsion.
Malema's appeal hearing is expected to start on April 12.

Seriously, and these clowns think they can run a country??? :wtf:

Into the ground, they are doing it right.

this suspension does not affect or negate his appeal process against his expulsion?!?!?!

Seriously? I would have thought that his current antics would affect his appeal quite alot actually and make it more certain that he would be expelled.

He can appeal his appeal to appeal to a banana peal.

Be kind to a rabbid dog and it will still bite u.
Enough said.

I'm supporting Juju on this, if only to ensure he pulls the whole party apart!

Talk about committing political suicide with your mouth! LOL at the stupidity and arrogance of the trouble making moron who doesn't know when to shut his big fat mouth :D

how very dictator'esque of the ANC leadership ;)
suspending a member for questioning dear leader!

Agree with Nivek, the ANC actions against Juju is the epitome of dictatorship.

Juju is indeed causing k@k within the ANC; and still the ANC keeps taking the bait and proving him right.

His appeal is being heard next Thursday so this guarantee he gets no mercy from the NDCA.

1. How in **** can you suspend someone twice? If you're suspended once , that's it!

2. How ironic that when Zuma gets insulted, he acts quickly but for any other offences, it takes ages for justice to prevail.

His expulsion is still subject to appeal, and so is not yet in force.

^ This.
As much as I hate that Malema thing, I'm not seeing any form of silver lining here.
