ANC: White foreign forces behind platinum strike

I'm sorry, but I don't see any correlation between the subject line and the body of this thread. A link to a credible source would also be apt don't you think?

Back to the topic at hand, I would put the blame squarely at the feet of COSATU. they seem determined to destroy any vestiges of employment in the South African marketplace. They are trying, and failing, to bully big business into giving into outrageous demands and as a result are ruining our already dwindling economy by scaring away any potential international investement.

Ask yourself who is always complaining that Tony Blair is trying to take over thier country?

Then, just open your ears and you'll hear that the ANC's NEC has warned that the AMCU strike is being supported by white, western interests who want the SA economy destabilised.

Oh, on the credible sources thing, I'm pretty credible. But if you want an independent verification, well, you can do that yourself. Or wait for Gary to come online.

Back to the rest of your comment. It probably is COSATU that screwed the pooch. AMCU are doing exactly the same thing. ANC can't admit that they (and their alliance) are incompetent so they bring in the western boogey man. Classic Chinese tactic. Classic Ugly Bob.

PS - Galactica already provided it for you. Find his/her post.

PPS - I don't know why I'm being so good to you all -

This just paints the perfect picture of racism which seems to be the agenda of the ruling party.
Oh how apartheid has taken a 180° turn.

That's nothing. It's when the draconian measures start being rolled out that will make us wish for those good old days as being a bastion of enlightenment and human kindness.

Push what?

You don't think that the ANC could be worse than the Nats? Or are you worried that they are and I shouldn't be giving them ideas?

I don't think any educated person would wish for the 'good old days as being a bastion of enlightenment and human kindness.'

I think the ANC are as bad if not worse.
I don't however want our country and mindsets to return to that state.

No Links to said claims of white destabilization ?

Title is deceiving.

Which is exactly the point - the ANC has the capacity to make it so bad that the Nats will look like saints by comparison.

Go find your own links and title is so cool that people set their cars alight to stay warm. Or do you need a link to that?

I feel like I am in council debating people with the maturity of the ANC :/

ANC: White foreign forces behind platinum strike

The ANC has accused 'white foreign forces' of being involved in the platinum strike saying their intention is to destabilise South Africa's economy.

Miners affiliated to the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) have been on strike for nearly five months now demanding a R12,500 minimum salary.

After a national executive committee meeting in Pretoria this weekend, the ruling party raised concerns about the real motives behind the strike, questioning whether or not political and foreign forces were involved.

Secretary general Gwede Mantashe said white foreign interests were involved with the intention to destabilise the economy.

But he did not say who these foreign forces were - only expressing concerns that the strike had taken on a political dimension.

The ANC warned Mineral Resources Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi to handle the strike with care after he launched himself into the situation, saying his first priority as minister was to resolve the issue.
Ramatlhodi set up a task team to help resolve the ongoing wage dispute and has reportedly managed to narrow down the key issues.

RAMATLHODI LEAVES IT TO AMCU AND MINES

After stepping in to mediate talks, the Department of Mineral Resources said it was now up to Amcu and the mining bosses to continue wage negotiations.
The union rejected the platinum company’s latest offer that would have seen its demand met by mid-2017.

Ramatlhodi's spokesperson Mahlodi Muofhe said after today, both parties would have to continue negotiations on their own.
“Even if there’s no agreement the parties are at a stage where they can come up with a solution acceptable to both, and the minister said he’s disengaging because he has set the tone for the resolution.”

Last week, Amcu President Joseph Mathunjwa said the latest round of talks “went well”, while a newspaper reported the union agreed to a government wage proposal.

closest i could find:

Some of the developments included the Economic Freedom Fighters' alleged involvement in negotiations, and the articulation of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union's position, apparently by white foreign nationals.

Oh, I forgot. You hang out in a remote part of the world. We have another car on fire this morning. I think it's the 3rd in 5 days.

I sometimes feel that having to spoonfeed everyone is exactly like the nanny state that the opposition seems to promote :/
