Cape Town - The ANC Youth League became one of the first on Thursday to congratulate its parent organisation on its 97th anniversary.

"Today, the 8th of January 2009 marks the 97th anniversary of the African National Congress.

"It is exactly 97 years ago that the ANC was launched as a definite expression of resistance to colonial, segregationist, oppressive and racist rule in South Africa," the league said in a statement.

"To racist, exclusionary, patriarchal, exploitative and repressive white minority rule, the ANC counterpoised a united, non-racial, non-sexist, prosperous and democratic South Africa.

"Over the years, the ANC has not only aged, but matured to be a fighting, dedicated and focused revolutionary liberation movement, whose ideals are espoused by [the] majority of South Africans today," it said.

I don't know if it escaped the baby league's attention - but they're not supposed to be a liberation movement. Liberation's over people - check your watches.

They've aged and become senile ... more like

Julius Malema reminds me of a frog. Both are similar in the sense that both have extremely large heads of which most is made up by a very large mouth.

They counterpoised a united, non-racial, non-sexist, prosperous and democratic South Africa?
United? Really - COPE, DA and so forth?
Non-racial? Discrimination used to be against blacks, now its against blacks and whites. Black on black for that matter, Zuma/Zula vs Xshosa.
Non-sexist? Really Zuma supporters?
Prosperous? Tell that to my maid for whom I often pay beyond my means so she can have food. Zuma stole her food.
Democratic? One party majority and members who threaten and discourage democracy at any given opportunity.

My goeie *** the believe themselves.

not one of those is true.

Oh, I think they're very prosperous. But being prosperous through lying cheating and stealing is not something to be proud of :/

Oh, are we referring to the SA citizens or the top brass in the ANC?

I think they exhausted their synonym count in that press release. Adjective overload.
