The leadership of the ANC Youth League on Monday said it will undertake any punishment collectively with its leader Julius Malema. Malema is now expected to start serving the sentence that was handed down by the ANC’s Disciplinary Committee earlier this year.
He had hoped the ANC’s national general council would nullify the sentence but in the end, the issue was not discussed in the council’s plenary session.
If Malema is found guilty of misconduct again, he could be expelled from the ANC.
“It will not be just an individual response to the issue of the fine or any of the other expectations but it will be a collective response to that,” said the league’s Magdalene Moonsamy.
