Was in Cape Town last week.

Booked into Victoria Junction Hotel and was surprised to find a LAN point in room.

Hooked up and yeah, it is working. Opening IE brings up their default Home Page which you must complete to activate the Broadband line.

But their charges are R2.50 per MINUTE.

That is daylight robbery. Needless to say, I did not make use of the facility.
 
Yeah the R2.50 per minute is the standard for upmarket tourist hotels.

I think this is a hotel charge and not Telkom.

We should report this to the Minister of Tourism

I think it is a worldwide trend, to a greater or lesser extent.
