Andre de Ruyter total blackout warning

my thoughts on this.

Yes it is bad the load shedding and our country is going downhill. I will not deny that.

But we always have all these threats that we will have a total blackout but what are the real world chances of it happening honestly speaking. it is more of a scare to the country than it actually happening in my honest thoughts.

Yes Winter will tell because of people using heating elements more and more but if nothing happens in winter then what is the chances of having a total colapse?

One of the things I can foresee them doing is using the SOD to exempt their voting areas from load shedding and forcing everyone else on a higher level.

In addition to the exemptions, we are now down to level 3, 4 and 5. Even worse than only exemptions alone.

If this grid does not collapse in total and end the country up in total darkness in 30-60 days, his continuous stage 5 and 6 loadshedding was likely an act of treason aimed at collapsing the economy and country and everyone involved with him needs to be investigated too.

The chance of total grid is as good as the chance of the ANC being idiots, now that they have SOD powers.

My tinfoil hat tells me that they are sabotaging the grid more than needed right now so that they can "fix" it a few months before the next general elections for added brownie points.

Most likely. Hence the reason I personally feel so strong for investigations, prosecutions and perhaps the re-opening of the Pretoria Central Gallows too.
 
I am Gatvol of all of this. It is pushing users that can afford it to go over to Solar and what is going to happen once most of people are on solar how is Eskom going to generate an income? if they had to of kept the grid going then there would always be a decent income for them BUT they chose to steal money for back pockets and now they are generating less in come and it will be a downhill battle for them

Now I'm lost as nothing above makes sense @rvZA

You're saying that Andre should be arrested & charged for treason because of his warning - but you're also agreeing that the high load shedding stages are because someone else (ANC?) is sabotaging ?

This has been my main concern.

In a sense, I think if generation is decoupled from transmission, then Eskom Transmission can buy solar from all those folks who have it, and sell it to those who don't, with perhaps some kind of storage attached somewhere.

That way Eskom Generation can actually carry on the downward spiral while the rest of us make a plan.
